Stephen Gallagher

Stephen has been working as a specialist orthodontist at Total Orthodontics Belfast since 2012.
After qualifying as a dentist in Edinburgh, Stephen worked in general practice in England before starting his full-time specialist orthodontic training at Trinity College Dublin in 1999.

Following his training, Stephen set up an orthodontic practice in Dublin which he ran until 2012. He then moved to Northern Ireland and has worked at Total Orthodontics Belfast ever since.

Darren Johnston

As a specialist orthodontist and accredited consultant, Darren is experienced in the management of complex cases.

Darren qualified from the dental school at Queen’s University Belfast in 1994. He then trained as a specialist orthodontist at Glasgow Dental School and undertook further training to become an accredited consultant orthodontist. Alongside working at the practice, Darren is a consultant orthodontist for the Northern Health and Social Care Trust based in Antrim Area Hospital.

Emma McCrory

Emma has been straightening smiles at Total Orthodontics Belfast since 2019.
Emma qualified from the dental school at Queen’s University Belfast in 2012. She then moved to Scotland and completed two years of further training split between general practice and the Edinburgh Dental Institute.

Following her training, Emma worked in oral and maxillofacial surgery for one year before training as a specialist orthodontist. She then returned to Belfast and joined our practice in 2019.

Deirdre Dundas

Deirdre is committed to caring for and supporting our patients. She first joined us as a dental nurse in 1997, before training as an orthodontic therapist with the University of Central Lancashire in 2017.

Rebekka Hamilton

Rebekka is committed to caring for and supporting our patients. She first joined Total Orthodontics Belfast as a dental nurse in 2016 and went on to become our lead nurse in 2019, before training as an orthodontic therapist with the University of Central Lancashire in 2022.
