Fixed braces are a common type of treatment used to straighten teeth. They’re made up of brackets which are fixed to your teeth, attached to wires that gradually move your teeth into the correct position.
Fixed braces can correct a range of orthodontic problems including crooked teeth, overcrowding, overbites or underbites. At Total Orthodontics, we offer a range of fixed brace options.
After always feeling under confident about the way her smile looked, Amy decided she wanted a straighter smile for her wedding day.
After visiting Total Orthodontics Kidderminster, Amy began fixed-brace treatment. Watch Amy’s story to find out all about her treatment and how she feels about her results.
Fixed metal braces are made up of wires, attached to metal brackets, that are bonded to the outer surface of each tooth. Fixed metal braces are available privately and sometimes to children under 18 who qualify for NHS orthodontic care.
Ceramic braces, also known as clear braces, are a more discreet option than metal braces. Clear brackets are attached to the outer surface of each tooth and are linked by metal or tooth-coloured wires.
Lingual braces work in the same way as other fixed braces but the brackets are attached to the inside of your teeth. For this reason, they are also known as hidden braces or braces behind teeth.
At your consultation, we will chat through your options and suitability for different teeth straightening treatments.
