Damon braces are similar to other types of fixed braces. They consist of wires held by brackets that are attached to your teeth. But where conventional braces often use elastic bands (also known as ligatures) to hold the wire onto the brackets, Damon braces are self-ligating. This means the brackets have a slot that holds the wire and avoids the need for elastics.
Teeth straightening with Damon braces starts from £4,500, but everyone’s mouth and teeth are different and your orthodontist will map out a treatment plan that is unique to you. Speak to your local practice about payment options. The costs for your treatment will be clearly outlined during your consultation.
Length of treatment time with Damon braces generally takes between one and two years. This is completely dependent on your individual needs and your orthodontist will give you a clearer idea of treatment time during your initial consultation.
There’s always some discomfort with any teeth straightening treatment but it should ease with time and over-the-counter painkillers like paracetamol or ibuprofen will help to reduce any initial discomfort.
At Total Orthodontics we offer a range of fixed braces, from traditional metal braces to clear or ceramic fixed braces.
These are fixed braces that are attached to the inside surface of your teeth. For this reason, they’re often called hidden braces.
A type of near-invisible brace, Invisalign treatment uses a series of removable, transparent aligners to straighten your teeth.
At your consultation, we will chat through your options and suitability for different teeth straightening treatments.
