Maria is a specialist and former consultant orthodontist, having consulted in South Manchester for over a decade. Maria studied dentistry at the University of London and gained her dental surgery degree in 1995. She then completed her specialist and consultant training in Birmingham.
Maria has won numerous awards throughout her career including the prestigious Aesthetic Dentistry Award in 2014, 2015 and 2018 for the best interdisciplinary orthodontic surgical case. In 2006, she earned the prize for Best Paper in a European Journal from the Federation of European Orthodontists. Maria’s other clinical interests include orthognathic surgery, the use of temporary anchorage devices and Invisalign aligners to treat complex cases. She is actively involved in research and teaching, lecturing and training orthodontists to become specialists and consultants.
Maria is a member of the British Orthodontic Society where she currently serves as treasurer for the Research Strategy Group. She’s also a member of the British Lingual Orthodontic Society.

After qualifying as an orthodontist in Australia, Geraint returned to the UK and joined our practice.
Geraint qualified as a general dentist from the University of Sheffield in 2002. After spending a number of years working in Australia, he undertook his orthodontic training at the University of Melbourne, winning the Australian Society of Orthodontics Best Case Presentation award and graduating with a DCD in 2012.
Having received his Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2011, Geraint returned to work in the UK.

A registered orthodontic specialist, Jerison previously worked for a corporate group in Louth, Lincolnshire for three years. He also worked as a locum orthodontic specialist for both the Northern Lincolnshire NHS Foundation Trust and the Isle of Man’s Central Community Health Dental Service. While working at NHS hospitals, he worked with senior orthodontist consultants and gained vast experience.
Jerison keeps his skills and knowledge updated, to be able to consistently provide quality treatment and deliver great orthodontic results. He’s always happy to help and ensures his patients feel fully informed along their journeys.

Chris qualified in 1983 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Sheffield. He undertook his orthodontic training at the University of Manchester in 1996 and received his Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2000. Chris gained his master’s in orthodontics from the University of Manchester in the same year.
In 2008, he was appointed a Member of the Faculty of Examiners at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and regularly examines orthodontics students in the UK and abroad.

Georgina is a qualified dentist with many years’ experience in general dental practice. She works under the supervision and prescription of an orthodontist.
Georgina joined our practice in 2008 and has been a part-time orthodontic assistant at our practice since 2009. This means she provides orthodontics under the supervision of one of our specialist orthodontists.
Georgina completed her dental surgery degree in 2000 from the University of Sheffield. Her years of experience in general practice includes work in South Africa and in a practice focusing on treating anxious patients. Georgina has attended many orthodontic postgraduate courses.

Nik joined our team in 1997. She works under the supervision and prescription of an orthodontist.
Nik qualified as a dental nurse in 1996 before joining the practice in 1997. She then gained a postgraduate dental radiography qualification in 1999 and an orthodontic nursing qualification in 2003. In 2008, Nicola gained a place at the University of Leeds to train as an orthodontic therapist and qualified from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2009.

A dedicated orthodontic specialist, Sara offers primary and secondary care (referrals), and provides NHS and private treatment. She’s a fully certified provider of Invisalign aligners and has a particular interest in cosmetic orthodontics.
Sara qualified as a dentist from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Dental Institute in 2008, before undertaking a range of hospital and practice posts. In 2011, she gained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and in 2016, she was added to the General Dental Council’s specialist list, after undertaking specialist orthodontic training with the University Dental Hospital of Manchester. Sara then completed two further years of senior registrar training to achieve consultant status.
>Sara is an appointed examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a clinical lead for the orthodontic and maxillofacial surgery services of Stepping Hill Hospital. Alongside her clinical commitments, Sara has a keen interest in teaching and has published numerous articles. Her commitment to teaching has resulted in invitations from The British Orthodontic Society to speak at the annual British Orthodontic Conference. Currently, Sara is working as part of a team to undertake a national multicentre clinical trial that has been funded and approved by the British Orthodontic Society.

Hamza has completed orthodontic speciality training and gained Membership in Orthodontics (M.Orth) from both the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has been awarded several prizes including the William Houston Gold Medal for achieving the highest performance in his M.Orth examination in Edinburgh.
After graduating from the University of Liverpool in 2011, Hamza gained vast experience through his work in both general practice and hospital settings. He completed his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2013 and has gained a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Orthodontics from the University of Manchester.
Alongside his work at the practice, Hamza is a consultant orthodontist for both Manchester Foundation Trust and Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. The position allows him to undertake a variety of complex treatments, to continue his orthodontic research and teach as an honorary member of staff for the University of Manchester. Hamza has achieved membership of a range of dental associations, including the British Orthodontic Society and the British Dental Institution. He also been invited to lecture nationally for various organisations.
Hamza offers a variety of cosmetic orthodontic treatment options and is an accredited provider of Invisalign aligners and Incognito braces.
