Kelly Bowen

NEBDSA 1990, Dental Radiography  2002, Advanced cert in Orthodontic Nursing,  Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy Warwick Univ 2016

I started my career in dentistry straight from leaving school as a trainee dental nurse in general practice. I qualified in nursing in 1990 and continued at the same practice until 2000 when I started working at what was Grove Green Orthodontic Centre at its inception. In 2002 I gained my certificate in Dental Radiography. I was given the amazing opportunity from my previous employer to train as an Orthodontic Therapist so with him as my mentor I went on to gain qualifications in advanced Orthodontic Nursing 2015 and then my Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy the following year.

The best thing about my job is that I absolutely love what I do, and am still amazed by the magnificent changes we achieve for our patients. I love the rapport and relationships we build with our patients and parents and am almost sad to say goodbye at the end of their completed treatment.

If I wasn’t on Orthodontic Therapist I would more than likely be working with animals in some capacity, but secretly I see myself as a bit of a Miss Marple and would love to work in criminology.

When I’m not straightening teeth you can find me either walking my lovely little doggy with my husband, spending time in my garden, taking time with family and friends and occasionally you may see me spinning on the Ceroc dancefloor!
