Urvi studied dentistry at Guy’s Hospital, graduating in 2002; she then started working in general dental practice on a vocational training scheme to develop her general dentistry skills. Following this she went on to work at Orpington and Sidcup Hospitals, as well as the Royal Surrey Hospital, working in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery for nearly two years.
During her time here she was awarded membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. This was followed by a further post in general dental practice to become experienced in all branches of dentistry. Urvi then went on to gain extensive experience in paediatric dentistry at Barts and The Royal London Hospitals as a senior house officer.
In 2007 she began her specialist training in orthodontics back at Guy’s and King’s Hospital in London and Kingston upon Thames Hospital, gaining a Master’s of Science degree and the Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. This enabled her to become registered as a specialist orthodontist with the General Dental Council.
Urvi is a member of the British and European Orthodontic Society and has published papers in national and international journals.
