Jit studied dentistry at the University of Birmingham and qualified in 2008. He then spent several years across hospitals in South Wales, Bristol and East Grinstead acquiring further skills in general, paediatric, restorative, and community dentistry, as well as in oral & maxillofacial surgery and orthodontics. During this time he was awarded the Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
After choosing to pursue a career in orthodontics, Jit joined the three year orthodontic postgraduate training programme based at Cardiff Dental Hospital and was awarded a Master of Dental Science Degree in Orthodontics with Distinction from Cardiff University. He was also awarded the Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh allowing him to be registered as a specialist orthodontist with the General Dental Council.
Jit was fortunate enough to carry out laboratory based research during his postgraduate orthodontic training which has been presented at local and international conferences, winning a prize at the International Orthodontic Conference in 2015. He is a member of the British Dental Association and British Orthodontic Society.
