Dental Nurses – Sevenoaks & Haywards Heath

Total Orthodontics is the largest provider of NHS orthodontic treatment in the South East, with eleven specialist practices located throughout Sussex and Kent.

We’re passionate about creating confident smiles for our patients, and behind each and every brace is a fantastic team, who are the best at what they do. We’re currently on the lookout for a dental nurse to join our ranks; so if you’re looking for a career that involves working as part of a close-knit team, where you can really make a difference, keep reading.

The role

As a dental nurse you’ll work closely with our orthodontists, therapists and reception team.

The majority of your time will be spent in the surgery, supporting the clinical team and ensuring everything runs smoothly.

You’ll also be required to support the practice’s head nurse and manager, undertaking some admin duties and sometimes liaising with suppliers.

From time to time you may also be involved in carrying out cross infection and stock take audits.

Above all, you’ll be helping to make sure our patients are cared for throughout their treatment and made to feel comfortable every step of the way.

The person

You will ideally be a qualified dental nurse and registered with the GDC.

Exceptional patient care is paramount for us, so a passion for delivering excellent customer service is vital, along with enthusiasm and good communication skills.

You should be able to work well under pressure and organise your time in order to meet deadlines.

Basic IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is desirable.

Last but not least, you will need to demonstrate initiative and the motivation to develop your role within the business. The opportunity is there for you to make a real difference.

Receptionist – Tunbridge Wells

We’re a friendly bunch here at Total Orthodontics and we love what we do, which is helping our patients to achieve a confident smile using the latest orthodontic techniques. We’re currently looking to recruit a receptionist to join our motivated team, so if you’d like to work with happy people, in a role that offers great opportunities for progression, we’d love to hear from you.

The role

You’ll be the first point of contact for our patients and responsible for welcoming them into the practice and making sure they’re looked after throughout their treatment.

Typical daily activities will include booking appointments, answering patient enquiries, processing payments, updating records and liaising with our referring dental practices.

While you’ll spend the majority of your time on reception, helping with the day-to-day running of the practice; there will also be the opportunity to take on your own projects and support the practice manager with administrative duties.

Longer-term we’re looking for someone who can develop their skills as a patient care coordinator. This is a key role, which involves supporting our patients throughout their first appointment – helping us to make a great first impression.

The position offers excellent opportunities for progression within the company, and in the past our receptionists have taken on roles in nursing, patient care, marketing and management.

As a full time receptionist, your working week will be Monday to Friday, with some Saturday and evening clinics.

The person

You’ll be responsible for responding to patient enquiries via telephone, post and email; so a good standard of written English and a confident telephone manner is essential.

We’re looking for individuals who genuinely enjoy helping others, so enthusiasm and a friendly personality will also help you to stand out.

You’ll be dealing with lots of different people (occasionally at the same time!), so strong communication skills and the ability to multitask are vital, along with the ability to work well under pressure and hit deadlines.

Finally, you’ll need a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, all of which you’ll be using on a daily basis.
