Grant studied dentistry at Guy's Hospital, London graduating in 1991.
He was awarded a prestigious surgical training post at Guy's and went
on to complete three years of oral and maxillo-facial surgery and
orthodontics at various hospitals. He then spent a short while working
in general dental practice during which time he continued his studies. He
was awarded the Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of
Surgeons of England in 1996.
Following a further period working in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Grant
started his three year postgraduate orthodontic training at King's College
Hospital with regional commitments in the orthodontic departments at
Greenwich, Sidcup, and Orpington hospitals. He completed his final
examinations and thesis in 1998 and was awarded a Master of Science
degree (Univ. Lond.) and the Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal
College of Surgeons of England allowing him to be registered as a specialist
orthodontist with the General Dental Council.
Following completion of his specialist training, Grant started work in
orthodontic practices in London, Surrey and Sussex and joined Total
Orthodontics full-time in 2001. Grant is one of the seven directors of Total
Orthodontics Ltd. He is a member of the British and European Orthodontic
Societies as well as the British Lingual Orthodontic Society. He is also a
member of the British Dental Association and is on the committee of the
West Sussex Local Dental Council.
Grant is passionate about teaching and shares the duties of organising
and chairing Total Orthodontics' research and study group. He has
presented results at the British Orthodontic Conference and is regularly
involved in lecturing and postgraduate teaching.
